Interview With Samantha Cyborski

Today, I have here with me Samantha Cyborski who launched her e-book Gnotret on Amazon. I grabbed some moments with her and had a chat about writing and books.

1. So What is Gnotret about?

Gnotret is about a group of college students who participate in a medical trial for the money being paid participants. But they discover that it's not a normal trial after they develop super human abilities after the first week. I would say the target audience for Gnotret, and The Accidental Heroes Chronicles as a whole, would be high school-age and older. Though, really, anyone who enjoys superheroes and sci-fi is part of the potential audience.

2. When did you start writing? Have you faced Writer's block?

I started writing poetry in middle school and short stories later on in middle school and in high school. I finished my first novel in 2012. I have faced writer's block before. Usually, I just try writing something else. If I'm working on a story, I'll write a poem and vice versa. I'll also go on a walk or take a shower. Showers are great for getting through writer's block.

3. Do you read a lot? Who are your favorites?

I do read a lot and have for as long as I can remember. Some of the authors I read the most are Mercedes Lackey, Jim Butcher, Clive Cussler, and Neil Gaiman.

4. How difficult is it to write a book?

I think it's challenging to finish writing a book. For me, about halfway through, I start thinking why did I start this in the first place? I can just not work on it and let it go. It usually coincides with a slump in writing or a bit of writer's block. But it gets easier once you get past the halfway point, at least for me.

5. Are you participating in NanoWrimo?
I am participating in NaNoWriMo this year. I'm looking forward to it :)
