Book Review- Love Story? Seriously! By Shivi Pandey

Some authors would like to have his readers as his fans. Others would like to have them as his friends. Shivi Pandey falls into the later category. When you turn over the pages of this novel, it's not like you are reading a novel,You feel like your buddy met you after a long time and is speaking his heart out.

Cover- Don't judge a book by it's cover, they say. However, it matters to us. The cover is simple yet attractive with not too many bright colours that hurt the eye but rather creates a soothing effect.

Genre- Love and Romance in Fiction.

Style- Style of writing is simple and people of all ages will enjoy reading it. I mean, what is the use of writing so complex a story that one can barely understand?

Plot-  The story is all about love, loss and heartache. Every reader can relate to it. Hasn't your heart fallen head over heels in love with random people? Hasn't your heart been broken 'n' number of times but you mended it anyway and continued the search. Love Story?Seriously! is as unconventional as it claims to be and unless you give it a read you can never realize that there are so many people just like you. I bet many will find it to be their own story.

Characterisation- The protagonist Samar takes you through his life journey from his childhood days in boarding school till the end of him. The ladies of the story, Sapna, Samriddhi and Surbhi are brilliantly described , physically as well as emotionally. Don't we all have a shy friend? Don't we all have a friend belonging to an Orthodox family? Don't we all have that friend who is #1 flirt? Then you see them all together in this novel.

My favourite lines -

"I used to silently cry so that no one could notice my weakness and take advantage of me."

"She was happy, she didn't seem to have any kind of tension to mourn about, she really didn't care about my love but I was still happy with the fact that she was happy."

Elements of humour-

"HIJKLMNO that is H2O rolled down her eyes."

"It seemed the professor was giving a sleeping lesson. Even I was hardly able to keep my eyes open so I could not notice the beauties of the class."

Another joke that got me cracking was on page 119 , buyers flip down there as soon as you get your copies.

My Verdict - Love Story? Seriously! Was an amazing read and I suggest you the same. The only negative point will be the editorial faults keeping aside which it has all qualities of a great novel.

My Rating - 4.0/5.0
